My wife is the organizer of a Think Pink fundraiser this weekend. I'm the designated gofer. Sorry, Ed.

Well that tears it!!!! We can't even get one person to attend an event!!!!

This is it!!!  I will have nothing to do with any derbies, get togethers or any other events. As far as I'm concerned, there is no Northern California Carp Club anymore. I'll leave this forum up so people can exchange information but no frickin events since everyone talks a good game but no one actually wishes to participate.

Here I'm home incapacitated due to ill effects of chemotherapy and I have to deal with this crap!!! I wish I was able to fish for even one hour, you people have the ability to fish all you want but choose not to for a variety of reasons. Huh

Too bad Ed, a couple of comments to help ease it a little.

Northern CA is large and the members are spread about, i can't speak for others but a trip from the valley to Clear lake and the fees to camp are expensive a few hundred dollars and no food or bait yet. Times are hard and i am sure some members are not as fortunate as others.

This derby was planned right on the back of a succesful one (except a poor fish show up) this makes it difficult for others.

Better for people to say no than to say yes and not show up, MM for example at least he said No this time, taking the warning from last time about reserving spots.

Maybe derbies are not the way to go, maybe we need a different format, Mick has his area, I have Mine, Keith has a new one, Steve has another, your up at clear lake it goes on. Few of us are less than an hour from another members lake, i do not have an answer but maybe others can make suggestions.

Keep the site going Ed, we have few choices to publicise carping these days.

Anthony

I would agree with Anthony's assesment, I understand alot of people said they would go last time and didn't show up. It is a little close to the last outing up to Clear lake for me though. I really enjoyed it though and ultimately it was good seeing you, and seeing that you were in good spirits.
Stay positive Ed with your treatment and focus on your health. look up a product called curcumin it is a very good cancer fighting agent, they eat alot of it in India and India has an very low cancer rate. I might even start adding it to bait recipe.  Cool

Thanks Anthony and James for your input. I understand most of the reasons for low attendance at these events but when it got down to "ZERO" I lost it completely. Really angry!!

I also enjoyed seeing you guys last month and I'm sure I'll see you again but it won't be at an official NCCC event.

Anthony, like I said earlier, the forum and website will remain up and running as long as I'm still around. I still hope that people will use it to continue to exchange carp fishing tips, tricks, etc as well as to meet up and fish together when possible. Angling

Really Old!! Ancient One!! grumpy  just to show how important the web site that you maintain is 11 fellow fishers came seeking to see what was going on at this site today.. Some left a word or two others just looked over your shoulder. Each of us have a reason to keep coming back.. You are filling a void  of something some of us are missing. At times its hard to put  in words what your effort means to me and others.
My internet was down the last couple of days boy was I in the dark.
Just remember ED you mean more to us then youl ever relize. Thanks for your effort.

It took many years to get this "cantankerous old bastid" reputation, I'm not going to do anything to change it now. Elmer Fudd guitar turtle

Mary and I would love to see you and Carol again, try to get up this way when you can.
